About the Class
The Snap Happy workshop will cover five main areas. Our first and largest block, Beginning Photography Basics, will teach you simple ways to adjust your focus, composition, lighting, and location to improve your everyday photography. Regardless of what camera type you use, these are easy actions you can put to use immediately when taking photos of your family.
Capturing authentic smiles from your family is a struggle for nearly everyone. Our second block, Toddler Trickery, can be applied to children of all ages, from toddlers through teens (and let's be real - spouses, too). With practice, patience, and a few of these tips in your back pocket, you'll have smiles all around (even if just for a few seconds!).
While our goal is always to get our image as close to perfect in camera, some basic editing can take your shot to the next level, and/or fix some common problems. This block will be applicable to everyone - whether your only editing experience is using an Instagram filter or you have played around with programs like Lightroom and Photoshop.
Although you'll leave the workshop with the knowledge and skills to take better photos of your family, there will still be times when you'll want to enlist a professional. I'll share some insider tips to make the most of any professional portrait session, ensuring you'll be happy with your final photos!
Finally, we'll discuss best practices for printing, storing, and displaying your photos, so that your memories can live beyond the screen.
Dinner and a take-home workbook are included with your registration.
